“Sign, sign, everywhere a sign” are the lyrics that came to mind as I sat down to write this post. These “everywhere” signs are those that we receive from “beyond the veil.” It is my belief and experience that we all have tremendous support and guidance available to us from the realm beyond our third-dimensional world. I also believe that there are certain “Universal Laws” that are involved in terms of our ability to receive this guidance. One of these involves the “law of free will.” Spiritual teacher and author, Wayne Dyer, describes free will as it relates to spirituality in this way: “Free will means you have the choice to connect to spirit or not.” If it is your choice to receive that support, then it’s important that you remember to ask for it.
I believe that each of us has a “team” in the form of angels and guides who are there to support us on this often-challenging Earthly journey. I also believe that when our loved ones die, they join this team of helpers. I’ve come to trust my “team” and I call on them often. I also believe that if we ask for a sign of their eternal presence beside us, then we will get that sign. In my opinion, the only requirements for experiencing these signs are the willingness and openness to receiving them.
These signs and forms of support can appear in a multitude of ways. Dreams, songs, repeating numbers, a message on a license plate, an animal appearing on your path…these are just some of the varied examples. They may show up in the form of an overheard conversation, a book that someone recommends, a feather or penny that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. I’ve had so many instances of signs appearing to me over the years, that it would take several paragraphs to document. Most often they come through via the lyrics in a song, or in written words. This is probably because music and writing are two passions of mine.
Since my brother Jimmy is now on my “team” (probably the head coach and loudest in the bunch), I call on him often for support. Calling on our support team doesn’t require any formal recitations or prayers, in my humble opinion. My recent call to Jimmy: “Jimmy, help me out buddy will ya?” involves a specific area of my life (which I’ll keep to myself). He came through with not one, but three signs this morning, to show me that he’s “on it.” What’s especially synchronistic about this, is the fact that the 3-year anniversary of his death is tomorrow. I believe, however, that he passed today (January 11th) and we didn’t find him until the 12th.
My first sign was a dream that I recalled when I awoke. My siblings and I were all together in some exotic place. I recall there were gorgeous cliffs overlooking crystal-clear water. Jimmy was right there with us. At one point, I tripped and found myself on the ground. I turned to Jimmy – who was beside me – and asked for his help. He reached down and pulled me to my feet. It made me smile (also shed a tear) when I recalled this dream. To me, that gesture was him telling me “I got your back, kid.”
The next two signs came back-to-back. I was headed to work and turned on the radio. The first song I heard was “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth. This song always makes me think of Jimmy since it was popular on the radio and being played constantly around the time he died. A few more tears were shed as I listened to this. Before the song ended, I was hit with the third sign. My eyes caught sight of a large yellow sign that was in the front yard of a home. Though I’ve seen this sign before, I usually don’t pay much attention to it. Today was different and the timing of when I saw it was perfect. The sign included the telephone number for snow plowing services and read: “Call Jim.”
Some would say this was purely “coincidence” and they can believe what they choose. I choose to believe that Jimmy made his presence known loud and clear (which was his typical way of making an appearance) 😊
Damn I miss my bro! But I have no doubt that he is still beside me. I’ll keep asking for and receiving signs and support from my whole “team”- including my brother – whenever I need it. I encourage you to do the same by reminding you of what I have come to know: love never dies, and help is truly only “one call away.”
