I had a dream last night that involved planting. I was with a small group of people, whom I didn’t know, and we were preparing a garden bed. I hauled a trash barrel over to the area where we would be working, perhaps it was to be used to toss the weeds in, during the clearing process. A woman kindly showed me that my barrel was already full of gunk – which looked like coffee grinds. She helped me to toss it over to a different area, where it was then spread out and covered with mulch to create a bed where things could be planted. I can’t recall whether this was an area we were going to work in, or a separate area, but whatever the case, we cleared and prepped the garden bed. I remember looking at it after and thinking that it looked like such a big area to tackle, and I felt a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of the job that lay ahead.
I’m relating this now to my life’s journey. We must get rid of our old baggage if we are to start new plantings. I would like to explore this further with my team…
Dearest One, a perfect analogy to explore here. Indeed, if one wishes to create anew, then one must first uncover anything that would potentially get in the way. Often this involves decluttering and creating space. In your garden dream – this is twofold. First one must discard anything which limits the belief that a new dream, a new vision is possible in the first place. So many face obstacles in this one area. When they look deeply within, they will find that these limiting beliefs have deep roots. The only way to remove them is by digging to the deepest point and tugging them with a firm hand. Sometimes it takes several attempts before one can reach the root. It can prove arduous, but it is the only way to ensure these same destructive patterns of thought can be eliminated. That is step one. Again, this may take sustained effort as many of these destructive tendencies have been allowed free reign for a long time, and therefore the roots are often strong and unyielding. This process takes patience and steady hands. It is worth the effort at this stage, for the clearing out and preparation of the “garden bed” lays the foundation for true growth and beauty to happen.
Going back to your dream, what was deemed “trash” for the trash bin, was then utilized as a sort of “compost” assisting in the preparation of new growth anticipated. A perfect analogy here. Your past and all you have experienced along your journey, is valuable and should be viewed as such. Every experience you have had – every encounter – whether perceived as significant or not, has served the greater purpose of assisting in your growth. To simply “discard” these experiences is to dishonor them. Just as waste can be composted and used to benefit new growth in a garden bed, so too, can your experiences be viewed in this light. Though often there is a desire to simply bury the past “painful” experiences, better to transmute them and see that they can be “composted” and serve their rightful purpose.
Only you can decide, only you can ascertain when there are no more weeds and you have cleared the bed to the best of your ability. Please remember – and this is important – there is no need to expect perfection here. That would only add burden, and in a sense, create more weeds. The key is patience and steadiness. There will undoubtedly be instances where those same “weed varieties” (negative thought patterns) will attempt to re-root, but your experience at a cellular level, will assist you in halting those from taking hold. This process of recognition will eventually feel effortless because the energy which gave life to those unyielding thoughts will have been transmuted, and the nutrients remaining will prove most beneficial.
Now, moving on to the exciting part. You are the gardener here. You get to decide what you would like to plant in your little corner of the world, remembering fully that your “corner” impacts all. Do you wish to experience love, beauty, inspiration? Then intend for it to be so. Nurture these plantings by actively pursuing those activities and experiences that cultivate same. See to it that you attend with loving care to your garden, without concern for what your neighbor may or may not be doing. When you do this, and when you consciously choose to create the best version of yourself, your garden will thrive! You will witness even greater beauty than you first imagined, because as in life, unexpected surprises and visitors will come into your garden – drawn to the beauty and love you have created there.
Your garden will be a place of joy, and peace and harmony for you and others you invite to enter. And what they offer through their loving energy, will affect your plantings and stir seeds to grow that you may have forgotten were there. Their presence (their seeds), will be added to your garden, bringing variety and richness to the landscape. This would be a good time to remind you of discernment. You would be wise to become aware of who and what you open the gate for. Use your feelings, trust your feelings, and act on them. Assistance in this area is readily available so remember to ask and trust!
