It is wonderful to strive to do your best and put your best foot forward in whatever endeavor you are engaged in. When you aim to do your best and give your all, you are helping to achieve the outcome you desire. Action requires intention first and foremost. It is the catalyst which creates the momentum with the effort you put in.
Sometimes, however, too much emphasis is placed on getting it “perfect” or pushing to excel. This causes much worry, strife, depleted energy, and less enthusiasm. You are indeed more “in your head” when you push this way. The heart is a force that doesn’t require a “pushing” energy. The heart is energy that flows with ease and without judgement. It is a starting point for the creation of desires that uplift you in every way. This is the true meaning of passion. It is when you are imbued with heart-infused desires and resulting actions. Passion drives experiences that take you out of the head and logical mind.
Often the egoic mind creates actions that negate the importance of the heart’s involvement. This can be seen, for example, during times when one engages in activities to simply “get ahead” and achieve some standard set by another. This is what has been encouraged and taught in so many ways within human society. The result has taken many to a place where they feel lost and without purpose and passion.
It is a challenge to be in this world that is set up for competition, for striving, for achieving, for winning, and often at a cost that proves a high price to pay. Those who see this for what it is and are willing to take a different approach that begins with the heart’s true desires, will find in the long run, they reap far greater rewards. These rewards cannot be measured by any outward standard of achievement in many cases. Though ironically, when one strives to fully immerse oneself according to the desires of the heart, this will often produce outward manifestations even more wondrous and “advanced” then thought possible.
You see, when one opens the heart to experiences desired there, one becomes a clear channel for wisdom, support, and inspiration from the higher realms where creation begins and is untainted by society’s judgment.
It takes courage and conviction to follow the stirrings of the heart and to aim to infuse these stirrings and desires with action. One must decide to remove oneself from the “rat race” and get off the “hamster wheel” that keeps one stuck in a repetitive cycle striving for some goal measured to be successful most often by another’s standards.
There is a way, even when one finds oneself in this world of working, doing, achieving – “chasing the dollar” to remain centered within the heart and act from this space. It may be moments within one’s day where one can stop and notice the interrelations with others in a more conscious way and use these interactions to uplift the spirit. It could be simple moments of bringing awareness to the ways in which you are tapping into the heart. It is stopping oneself from judging oneself against any standard set forth by another. It is in those moments where you take stock and remind yourself that you are doing the best you can and know that this is more than adequate.
Lighten up your own standards of perfection. Quiet them when they become an impediment to you moving with ease through your day.
