Pause and take a moment to congratulate yourself for showing up…today, yesterday, last week, last month. Every day you have shown up in this body, on this planet and put one foot in front of the other.
Give yourself credit for navigating all the challenges you have faced along your path. Nobody said it would be easy. Nobody said just how damn hard it would be either.
Your experiences may be vastly different from mine. But the commonality, the common thread between each and every one of us, is the fact that we are human. And just by being part of this collective group, we share a journey of “ups” and “downs” and “in-betweens.”
We all have our moments, our days, where we question ourselves in one way or another. This questioning can be a positive thing and lead us to greater self-awareness and growth. It can also be quite the opposite, holding us back in fear and doubt, self-limiting beliefs, feelings of unworthiness or “not good-enoughness.”
Somehow, most of us find a way to muddle through, to make our mark, to show up…even in those moments, or on those days when we question whether we have the strength or the stamina.
So remind yourself as you read these words, that you are one – among many – examples of human perseverance in a world that can sometimes seem inhumane, baffling, disconnected, distressed.
You are human. You are here for a reason, whether you fully understand that reason or not.
Pause, take that breath and congratulate yourself for committing and choosing to stay the course…day after day, week after week, month after month…creating a tapestry of your precious life, that is beautiful, flawed and uniquely yours.
