This crazy world can overwhelm,
Its weight too great to bear;
I search for nonexistent wings,
To fly me out of here.
The sorrow, conflict, pain and strife,
Injustice far and wide;
A constant stream of narratives,
To keep us polarized.
I wonder if humanity,
Will ever live to see;
A world no longer in distress,
Where only love reigns free.
“The truth shall set you free,” I’ve heard,
My search for truth, life-long;
On darker days, the struggle’s real,
My faith not quite as strong.
On days like these, I know I need,
To seek within the place;
Of stillness found inside my heart,
To feel God’s love and grace.
It’s there where reassurance comes,
Somehow, we’ll be okay;
I’m guided to remember love,
Surrounds me every day.
Then Mother Nature beckons me,
To feel her warm embrace;
I walk among the trees and feel,
The sun upon my face.
Rejuvenated as I see,
The beauty, always there;
In gratitude, I feel this truth:
That love is everywhere.
